POEMS I WROTE SOMETIME AFTER 1995
I have been asked recently if I have ever written any Poetry . I had said No at first. Then I remembered that some time back after 1995 after a break up with a Girl that I had lived with for a while. (Probably the only real relationship of my life, So Far) I wrote what I would call “two poems”!
The first I wrote right after the break up. I guess I was at the point I was just trying show I was a hardcore man and the break up did not effect me. So I was trying to be funny about the whole thing.
The second I wrote years later after my Dog “Mutely Junior” was killed. Juniors Mother had been the Girl I had lived withs Dog named “Riff Raff”, and his Father was named “Mutely” He had been my Fathers dog . When me and the girl broke up, Junior was still only a puppy about six months old and he was by my side the whole time. He was like my Son. The girl I had dated had kids that I helped take care of while I lived there and I do not think it could have been much harder leaving the kids had they been my own flesh and blood.
I do not fall in love easy and my life has always been about being a Biker and I have often said the last thing I want to do is anything like getting married and having kids. I have always said I want something more from life. So I found it very odd and disconcerting that I found myself so happy living with this Girl playing the roll of Father to her kids ! I guess what we tell ourselves we want and what you really want can be two totally different things! I was young then and as I look back now I can remember I did not keep it much of a secret that I wanted more from life and I can only assume that was a big part of why we broke up.
After the Break up I lived in a Cabin in the woods in upstate NY in a small town for about 4 years. Junior was almost always by my side and he and I enjoyed many adventures during that time. As much as I loved my life in the Cabin. I once again found myself wanting more from life. So I moved to Long Island NY. I was getting myself set up in yet another new life. During this time while I got my new life in order, I had left Junior with my Father to be take care of . One night my Father let him out and Junior ran off . A few days later Junior was found by the Train tracks. He had been hit by a Train and was dead. It was no ones fault. Junior had always loved fast to run threw the woods. It was part of who he was. When I heard about Juniors death I wrote the Second poem. Junior was the last part of what I often think of as a different life I once lived. With Junior gone it was at that point that I truly felt the break up.
These Poems are not of me now but of a Me I once was or maybe a Me I could have been. I believe I have now found my place in the world and I am almost positive I am happy. So I will post these poems for you all to read! Some may say these poems will make me look weak. To them I say always remember looks can be deceiving !!!
I hope you enjoy the poems. LJ James

Sweet Heart I’m starting to get the feeling you don’t Love Me !!!! By L.J. James
———————————————————– Home or Lost
I stand here alone thinking of a place gone Past. Never thinking that I have been away so long.
Its a strange feeling to know your home is no longer yours but now some others.
I can’t go back, but I still wonder if I would.
I was always cold on that hill but my heart was warm.
My Dog was born there but now he too is gone Killed in the Night by a train going some where I have never been.
My heart got broke but I did not cry.
I though I was happy before I really was. Now I wonder can I be again.
My heart calls out for me to follow the sun. But I don’t remember where it is that I was going before I stopped here
Am I happy here, I think so but I’ve been wrong before! By L.J. James AmericanBikerX.com
Are you looking for a new idea for your kids birthday? Are you tired of the same boring old parties? Why not throw a pancake party? Everyone loves pancakes, especially kids, and when you give them stuff to decorate and make fun pancakes, they’ll have even more fun!
You can begin by choosing your pancake theme. Of course it will be pancakes, but are you going to make pancake shapes, colored pancakes, pancake people, etc.? You can be as creative as you would like. It could be a chocolate pancake party and you can have the kids make chocolate pancakes and use chocolate chips and other chocolate treats to decorate the pancakes. You might decide to make huge pancakes in a cake pan and have them use cookie cutters to cut out shapes. Or you can be simple and make regular pancakes but have lots of different toppings for them such as fruit, candy, whipped cream, or ice cream.
Next, you will need to purchase your ingredients and supplies. Wait until you know how many kids will be coming before you do this so that you have enough but not too much. Make a list and use a recipe to make sure you don’t forget anything. You will need basic ingredients such as flour, eggs, and milk, but also make sure you have enough supplies for the kids to use such as spatulas, spoons, bowls, and pans.
Of course, you will also need serving supplies such as utensils, plates, napkins, and cups. Use fun colorful tablecloth designs or colors that will match what you are doing. For example, you can do a tropical theme with colorful fruit and tropical decorations and use a lot of fruit with the pancakes. If you are coloring the pancakes, use bright colored tablecloths, cups, plates, and napkins.
Make sure you have a concrete plan before you start. If you don’t have the party planned out and a good schedule in place, the kids might go crazy and make a mess. Set up a station for each task such as measuring, mixing, etc. and then have them each decorate their own.
You can even personalize your pancakes. They can write their names in batter or use icing on the pancakes. they can make different colors and of course personalize it even more with their own toppings. Try to make sure they use foods that will go well together. You don’t want them wasting food because they made gross pancakes.
Don’t fret too much about the specifics of the party. Make sure the kids are having fun and you’ve met your goal. be creative and watch the kids and maybe you’ll have a little fun too!
It isn’t often that someone comes up with a truly novel idea that is so simple that it should have just of been obvious.
I don’t want to sound ungrateful by any means, and in fact, I am trying to give a compliment to the inventor. There is just something magical about watching an entrepreneur or inventor create an idea and make it materialize in the real world.
A good example would be what I saw when I was out today to buy TV screen protectors for work. I had no idea of what to expect as I was just sent the store to go pick them up, but what I saw when the sales clerk showed me what I was looking for was pure genius.
You see, a tv screen protector is the obvious compliment to the newer televisions on the market. In fact, go check them out - I bet you will kick yourself for not thinking of it first.
Many years ago, I came to the realization that it makes more sense to ask a specialist about something than just someone at random. I found that most people wouldn’t tell you if they didn’t have the answer and they would rather just make something up than tell the truth that they don’t know.
The experience that taught me this was when I went to buy some plants for my yard: I wanted to know more about lantana care before I bought some. The store clerk told me that they were just like any other plant and that I shouldn’t have any problems figuring it out.
Boy was he wrong!
Needless to say, all the plants died and so did my landscaping design ideas that I had in my head. Now, if I want to know more about landscaping designs and plants, I make sure to take advantage of the excellent customer service at the greenhouse - they know what they are talking about.
It is funny how our priorities change with each child that we have. When I had my first son, I had all of my thank you cards written out for each gift the day after my baby shower. I was so organized and I thought that I was the most perfect mother there had ever been.
Having more children changes that very quickly. We had our third child over four months ago and I still have not sent out the birth announcements. I have good intentions and I have them all in envelopes, but I guess it is too daunting a task to go to the post office and mail them out.
My organizational skills are somewhat nonexistent now. I don’t know where anything is anymore. If I can’t find something, chances are that one of the kids had it and it could be absolutely anywhere. Gone are the days of neatly folded laundry put properly in their drawers still warm from the dryer. We wear them right out of the baskets now.
I am one of those few people who was lucky to find the man of my dreams on the Internet. After a move to a new city, I was lonely and I was looking for some friends. I decided to check out some free online dating sites and see what I could come up with. I knew that it certainly did not hurt to give it a try.
I was extremely interested in the sections that allowed you to find local singles. I was not necessarily looking for a relationship, but I knew that it would be great to find a guy that had some things in common with me, and I thought that if he was single that he would have more time to help me get used to the area.
I started chatting with Max and a few weeks later, we decided to meet. We hit it off right away and we started hanging out all the time. About three months into it, the relationship changed from friendship to romance. He is everything I ever wanted and I am so thankful that he helped me to be able to call this place my home.
One thing that I have always hated about the weekends during summer is that there seems to be too much work to do. Whether it is staining the deck, mowing the lawn, or weeding, we always have something to do around home. Couple that with working five days per week, and it never seems like we get a break.
But something wonderful happened today - I woke up to rain. Now, I am sure you know that you can’t really do any of those chores in the yard when it is wet, so it looks like I will have the day off. Sure, I should get some other stuff done, but I have decided that it is time that I take a day off for a change.
So, I have curled up in the sun room, and I am reading my new book, Stock Split Secrets, by Darlene Nelson. Sure, it isn’t a story book by any means, but I am learning how I can increase my returns on the stock market by following what the professionals do.
I think I will read for most of the afternoon - I am so happy it rained.
There are some moments in life that require a phone call no matter what time of the day it is. Some examples of this would be calling to announce the death of a parent, an accident where someone is in the hospital and the birth of a baby. The latter was what we found ourselves needing to do as both of our parents wanted a phone call as soon as possible.
We were not allowed to use our cell phones in the hospital, so we had purchased some calling cards that we could use instead. This way, I would be able to call from the payphone no matter what time of day it was - during the day wouldn’t be a problem, but at night, there is no one around that will activate the phone.
We also had to buy a couple of international calling cards to call her family - they live all overseas. We found some with the best rate possible, so we picked up a couple - that way we can call her siblings as well.
So, we are all ready for the baby - we just have to wait for it to come now.
