6 Tips To Maintain Your iPhone & Keep Scratches Off Its Back

Posted By Lee Durer on March 1, 2009 @ 7:48 am
by Lee Durer

Your iPhone is an investment, and you for sure wont want to destroy it by not protecting it, or allowing it to get covered with scratches. Protect your iPhone with these tips, and you would be able to use it for much longer!

One. Keep your iPhone away from things that can scratch it. If any case you are going to put it in your pocket or purse, don’t put it in the exact pocket you keep your keys or your change, as either one is likely to scratch it.

2. Get a case. There is a plethora of types of covers available for you to utilise to protect your iPhone. Numerous of them include flip cases, slip pouches, gel skins, rigid covers, weather resistant covers, and leather covers. You could get sports covers for when you don’t have a pocket or a free hand. Sports covers are arm-bands with an attached pocket or sleeve for your iPhone. If you are fashion conscious, you can also get Gucci or some other designer iPhone covers. You can get cases that look like coin pouches. Iphone cases come in every colour thinkable. Numerous cases fit so tightly round your phone, leaving the screen available for you, that they look like the mobile phone itself. So whatsoever your preference in a case, you can find one that you like, and it can keep your iPhone looking like new.

Three. To keep dirt and smudges away from the screen, get some screen protectors. These pieces of film adhere to your screen, commonly by static, without clouding your view. You use your iPhone screen like per normal, right through the screen protector.

4. Some other option for protecting your iPhone from grease and scratches is an Air Jacket kit. The air jacket is a thin layer of protection only 1 millimeter thick. Its virtually invisible, even so it still protects your phone. The air jacket gives you no protection for if you will drop your phone, but it would keep away the stain, smudges, and scratches which ruin your iPhone’s finish. The kit comes together with the air jacket, a fine crystal film, and an anti-glare film for the LCD.

Five. There are also things you can do to maintain your iPhone’s battery, and extend it’s life. First and foremost, keep your iPhone away from heat. Do not leave it in a hot car, or anywhere else in the sun. Heat is the worst thing for your iPhone’s battery, and will ruin it faster than just more or less any thing else. Likewise, you might want to go through 1 charge cycle monthly to keep the battery maintained. To do this, charge it up to 100% and then let the charge drain completely down to 0%. keypad lock your mobile phone when you are not using it, and keep power-draining programs, such as gaming, to a moderate level. Doing these things would keep your battery functioning at an optimum level.

Six. Part of maintaining and protecting your iPhone is cleaning it. To clean it, begin with turning off your iPhone for safety, then use the cleaning cloth that came with it. If that is not available, you can use any soft, lint-free cloth. Get it slightly damp, but not wet. Don’t use any cleaning solvents, alcohol, household cleaners, window cleaners or abrasives. Make sure you dont get any moisture in any of the openings.

A clean, well-maintained iPhone will look nice, and make you look good. It will work better with more efficiency. And it’ll be there to bring you comfort, convenience, and fun entertainment for a super time to come. Have fun!!

How to reverse lookup a cell phone or unlisted landline number

Posted By Paul Turner on @ 11:16 am
by Paul Turner

You’ll be wanting to do a backwards phone number lookup, whenever you need to find out who’s just phoned you.

It’s been fairly easy to do this for landline numbers as the public domain holds these numbers – that means that you and me can get to them in one way or another. Sure it’s often easier to use a paid service, but you can get the information you need for free.

But what if the number that called you isn’t published or is unlisted? What do you do then?

Cell phone numbers have to be sourced through other methods which cost. Some companies do this and spend a lot of time and resources putting the data together in a form that is usable. Some of these companies publish the information or sell it on to others to do so. So you end up with a backwards phone search directory.

There are companies that out there that specialise in cell phone number directories and old & unlisted numbers. So, don’t give up, because there is a way to run a backwards phone number lookup that’ll produce a good result for you.

I’ve recommended one site; in particular, to friends & family and they’ve all been pleased with their results.

You have to become a member, for a very small fee. Once you are a member, you can do an unlimited number of searches.

You just enter the number you’re after and within seconds you’re given the name and address of who’s been calling you. It’s as simple as that!

Your peace of mind and security is all important and easily obtained by running a simple backwards phone number lookup.

Unique Cell Phones

Posted By Charlie Reese on February 26, 2009 @ 2:31 am
by Charlie Reese

As a person who has always preferred flip cell phones to other styles, I’m a bit disturbed by the latest designs that manufacturers seem to favor. For instance, I can’t imagine using a phone that relies on touch screen input instead of a regular keypad, nor do I like the so-called “candy bar” design where the keypad is always exposed. Obviously, there’s nothing intrinsically wrong with these other styles; it’s just a matter of personal preference. And judging from the number of touch screen and candy bar handsets out there, I’m probably in the minority with this opinion!

But a bigger problem for me is that it seems like flip cell phones are harder to find these days. I rarely see a wide selection of them on display at the mobile phone kiosks at the mall or whatever, so when I need a new one, I usually end up shopping and buying online. Fortunately, most online phone retailers tend to carry huge inventories that include just about every model available, which certainly makes finding the latest flip cell phones a lot easier for me.

Since I’m in the market for a new handset right now, I’ve been checking around for the best deals on flip cell phones. I’ve come across several websites that offer the newest models from popular manufacturers such as Nokia, Motorola, LG, Samsung, and others, giving me a nice selection to choose from. Plus, these websites are more than just places to buy flip cell phones online. They often have comprehensive reviews of all the products they carry and also offer deals on contracts with national cellular service providers, making it easier for customers to get everything they need in one place.

Yes, it’s a bit difficult to evaluate a particular phone just from reading a description and seeing a picture on my computer screen, but I’ve found a way around that issue. Whenever I see any flip cell phones that I like, I simply dial up local retailers until I find a store that carries the model I’m interested in, and then go over there to check it out. If I like the product, then I get back online and continue searching for the lowest prices for that particular model. It definitely takes extra effort to shop this way, but I don’t mind. After all, I’ve found plenty of discount flip cell phones using this method and have saved hundreds of dollars over the years. To me, that’s worth a bit of extra work!

If you’re looking for a huge selection of the latest flip cell phones, I recommend shopping online. Between phone retailers and auction sites, you’re bound to find something you like — and best of all, you won’t even have to leave your chair to do it!

Prepaid Mobile Plan Buying Tips

Posted By Floyd Smithfield on February 24, 2009 @ 1:14 pm
by Floyd Smithfield

There are many prepaid mobile billing plans available, which makes it somewhat hard to choose between the various options. This guide, which is valid for all countries, is here to help you avoid unnecessary costs. Each cell phone company has pros and cons of each service and feature they offer.

To begin with, you need to understand that there are stark differences between the available prepaid mobile offers. They may seem the same at first glance, or perceptions of differences may at first only be tied to the operators’ advertising campaigns, but once you look deeper, you will understand the differences.

As for the handset, you will not get a subsidised one as offered with lock-in contracts by opting for a prepaid mobile. But even if you get an expensive mobile phone the cost savings will make themselves felt in the long term, as prepaid mobile plans are usually cheaper. But remember that you will have to pay the full price of the handset right away.

Prepaid mobiles work by there being a credit sum that you need to pay in advance, and you can then call as long as the credit is positive. You can usually recharge different credit amounts. But you need to be aware of the fact that recharging less frequently, but for bigger amounts, will often result in gaining added perks that will make you save money in the long run.

An important thing to do is to check on your prepaid mobile price plan is credit rollover and duration. All prepaid credit expires, but will your credit last for a week, or for several months? As for rollover, this means whether recharging your credit will also lengthen the duration of any remaining credit, or not.

If you phone a lot but not during normal office hours, for instance because at that time you are at school, work, or at home, you should check out off-peak prepaid mobile rates. These can be a great money-saver if you mostly call in the evening or on Saturday and Sunday.

Some carriers offer cheaper international calls than others. And for US prepaid mobile carriers, not all have the same prices for long distance calls. These rates are usually buried in the fine print, but make sure that you compare them across operators.

There are several other points that you may want to check out in the fine print, depending on your usage pattern, such as internet connection price of voicemail calls, or cost of prepaid mobile content such as ringtones and music videos.

The main lessons to bear in mind are that you need to know your expected type of prepaid mobile usage to be able to save, and that comparing and contrasting offers will allow you to find the most appropriate prepaid mobile for you.

Extraordinarily intuitive and convenient, though they are, cell phones are powerful telecommunications devices.

Well I’ve reached the point with cell phones where I feel the need to lay down the law. There are some real abuses of wireless technology being perpetrated all around us, and the time has come to create some social order out of the cell phone chaos. This is by no means an exhaustive list simply because as the technology evolves, new annoying traits will surely emerge. But commandments usually come in tens, so think of this as the first Ten Commandments of cell phone etiquette, with amendments to follow.

Telecommunications system in which a portable or mobile radio transmitter and receiver, or “telephone,” is linked via microwave radio frequencies to base transmitter and receiver stations that connect the user to a conventional telephone network. The geographic region served by a cellular system is subdivided into areas called cells. Each cell has a central base station and two sets of assigned transmission frequencies; one set is used by the base station and the other by mobile telephones. To prevent radio interference, each cell uses frequencies different from those used by its surrounding cells, but cells sufficiently distant from each other can use the same frequencies. When a mobile telephone leaves one cell and enters another, the telephone call is transferred from one base station and set of transmission frequencies to the next using a computerized switching system.
