Email Marketing’s Role In Internet Marketing

Posted By stevenlocke on November 30, 2009 @ 12:13 am

When you hear the term “internet marketing“, what do you think of?

For many, that term conjures thoughts of websites or spamming or search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing. For others, it’s all about graphical design, writing fancy code or even affiliate programs. All of those answers correct, but the essence of internet marketing is much simpler.

At its core, internet marketing is about these things:

* Understanding the target market to which the product/service/cause you’re marketing will appeal
* Determining exactly how your target market interacts with the internet
* Positioning your content on the internet to attract the attention of your target market
* Collecting information about your target market (also known as “leads”) for follow-up and conversion into sales
* Design of offers or incentives to induce the desired actions from your leads

Since there is insufficient space in this article to give all of these topics adequate attention, let’s focus on just one specific topic with the realm of internet marketing: Email Marketing.

My best payoff has always come by focusing on permission-based email marketing. Permission-based email marketing refers to the practice of collecting information (including email addresses) from website visitors and communicating with them via e-mail with their direct consent. The “permission” aspect of permission-based email marketing is what separates legitimate email marketers from the spammers that everyone despises.

My love of email marketing is strong for one reason: It works very well. Email marketing has been much like a never-ending goldmine: It enables us to produce income on demand simply by sending a good offer to our list. When you have thousands of loyal subscribers - as we do - and you put a strong and compatible offer in front of them, income becomes nearly automatic.

However, the key to successful email marketing is the development of a legitimate trust relationship with your subscribers. If you opt to send your subscribers a request for purchases every single day, they will likely tire of your badgering and cease reading your emails altogether.

Alternatively, if you take the time to provide good content to your readers on a regular and frequent basis, you’ll discover that your readers take all of your emails far more seriously, and as a result your emails will be opened, read and acted upon with greater frequency. Essentially, email marketing is really an exercise in trust.

While there are many more aspects to internet marketing than just permission-based email marketing, email has definitely been the cornerstone on which our business is built.

Commercial General Liability Insurance Protects Your Assets

Posted By stevenlocke on November 25, 2009 @ 9:24 am

While running a company, it is vital that you have some type of insurance to guard the business against potential problems. Getting general commercial liability insurance coverage covers your business from cases of damage by customers with whom you perform services for or have to deal with in a normal business day.

The risks involved can be in various forms. They can be liability from personal injury endured by your customers while they’re on your company premises or damages claimed for bad goods and services. Your employees can strap you with workers comp liability cases in the event of injuries suffered while on the job.

Common claims can be slip and fall occurrences on the company property or adverse consequences endured because of shoddy machinery or service supplied. Having a commercial general liability policy helps cover your business against these claims of damages by reimbursing your company or covering the damages.

Normally, if you have one case which has been successfully made against your business, it could very well increase your regular coverage premiums since you could be considered to be in a higher risk category by your commercial insurance brokers. The kinds of liability which you are offered coverage against under commercial liability insurance include claims for property damage, injury to persons including bodily injury as well as cases for damage in regards to injury caused by business advertising.

The nice benefit is that such a policy protects your business irrespective of whether or not the claim is false. Your business may have to appear in a court of law and go forward with the legal process. But, so long as you’re covered, you can be certain there’s going to be the coverage to rely on if it turns out to be the worst case scenario.

It is very important to secure the company against false or invalid claims and obtain business commercial insurance. Not only does it protect you from the above mentioned claims, but also saves the company from bearing the repercussions of those claims rather than ending up paying millions as a settlement amount to the plaintiffs.

Business Insurance Brokers - How to Deal With Them

Posted By stevenlocke on November 23, 2009 @ 6:47 am

When it comes down to the home business insurance coverage, ensure you check your insurance contract. Do not obligate your business to an agreement unless you’ve studied the fine print. Have you ever called the insurance agent simply to hear a bunch of clatter and noise? Should you find that you have these situations, then you want to notify the agent’s boss.

No one enjoys being blown off by an agent preoccupied with other things when they ought to be attentive to you, particularly when you’re paying that person for his services. You have to certainly establish who you should contact in the event you should have to make use of your coverage. You might consider appointing a key member of your staff who will be the one to call the insurer.

Invariably, you should grant a reward to the employees if they can hold down the number of claims filed. The policy must cover disability, life coverage, health coverage, liability, physical damage coverage and maybe you require small business auto insurance. Make sure that every bit of communication with the broker will be of the written kind, as you may need to provide proof of something down the road.

It’s always a good idea to have evidence of your communication with the insurance agent. This way, a lot of potential legal mistakes may be prevented. Following are a few tips to assist in dealing with the broker: Review the fine print of any small business insurance plan! Do not allow the broker to just read it to you. Study the contract yourself. Should you have questions, get the answers.

Do not agree to anything that cannot be put in writing within the policy. Business insurance brokers call for their employees to document most everything, up to and including telephone calls or meetings in person.

Do not make idle threats to your broker regarding stopping the coverage. If you feel you are not getting your money’s worth, you should simply stop the coverage.

You’ll want to build a rapport between you and the broker. This will help when it comes time to call upon his services. You will need to have your broker on your side so he will fight for you whenever the situation arises.

Who Else Wants to Start Their Own Online, Home Based Business?

Posted By stevenlocke on November 21, 2009 @ 5:07 am

Are you going through a mid-life crisis? Do you follow the same boring routine day in, day out?|Are you living life like a robot, working the same schedule day to day?

Does your boss really appreciate you? You may be a hard worker but never get the true recognition you deserve from your boss and colleagues. Just once you would like your boss to pat you on the back and say, “Good job,” but unfortunately that day never seems to come.

If this describes you, it may be time to fire your boss and venture out on your own. Although this may seem like a completely overwhelming move, it may not be as hard as you think!

Consider taking advantage of options like these:

1. Become a Virtual Assistant. Being a Virtual Assistant allows you the flexibility of staying at home while managing tasks for other companies.

* This is a great option if you enjoy computer work, managing tasks, paperwork, or customer service.

* Though it may take a bit of time to get your VA business off the ground, virtual assistants can command a high price for their services, especially if they have technical skills.

2. Join an MLM (Multi Level Marketing) company. These businesses are all the rage lately, but they do have their pros and cons. If you think that perhaps an MLM company is the business for you, you’ll want to investigate before you get started.

* Make sure the company you decide to partner with has a good track record. You can confirm this by speaking with other representatives of the company and checking the Better Business Bureau and similar websites for more information.

* Another fact you must be aware of is the sign up fee that can range from a few dollars to a few hundred dollars. Some companies even charge upwards of $1,000 to be a representative.

* Many people succeed at a multi level marketing business, but countless others fail miserably. Research the details of what you’ll need to do to succeed in your chosen business and ask yourself if you can do what it takes.

* It would be in your best interest to become informed and educated about the business before you sign on the dotted line and hand over your hard-earned money.

3. Make and sell your own crafts. Are your friends envious about the beautiful things you can make with your own two hands? Then this may be the business you’re looking for! With websites such as eBay and Etsy, as well as local arts and craft shows, many people are making a substantial living selling their homemade creations.

* Unique items always sell at higher rates than the ones that are highly available.

4. Become a Life Coach. This business opens up a realm of possibilities. If you enjoy listening to people and providing advice, becoming a life coach may intrigue you. A life coach provides good, solid advice to individuals relating to a particular area in their life.

* A life coach can specialize in many different areas. For example, some coaches only deal with stay at home moms, while others help those wanting to make more money or lose weight. The options are absolutely endless.

* You can go for training and become a certified coach at your local college or online.

* You must promote and market yourself strongly, and it may take awhile to get the business of the ground. But if this is something that you truly hold a passion for, it can turn into an extremely lucrative endeavor.

5. Become a Caterer. Does everyone say that no one can cook like you do? Do you get request after request for your recipes? Do you find spending time in the kitchen relaxing? Then starting a catering business may be something you’ll want to explore further.

* Just like most businesses, it may take a bit of patience and energy to get it started, but the benefits will be well worth the energy. Make sure to call your friends and family and tell them to spread the word about your new catering business.

* Once you can secure your first party or event, you’ll have word of mouth recommendations marketing your business for you. If cooking is your passion and you learn how to manage food costs and market your business, then you’ll have no problem succeeding in this lucrative industry.

These are just a few ways to fire your boss and start your own business. Your next step is to decide where your passion lies. Decide what you enjoy doing and go from there. Beginning your own business is not easy, but with a dash of hope, dreams, patience, and hard work, you’ve just won half the battle!

Have You Seen Any Green Shoots of Recovery?

Posted By stevenlocke on November 20, 2009 @ 5:06 pm

I have read various reports in recent days stating that we may well be through the worst of this current recession. Over the last couple of weeks I have been asking my business contacts whether they have started to see any of those green shoots, the famous starting sign of a recovery. Here is what they said:

Out of all of the people that I asked or surveyed for want of a better word only fifteen percent stated that they had seen the first signs that things were starting to improve. I have to say that I had expected and had hoped for a much higher percentage than this. From the people I have spoken we may well be on the road to recovery however that this recovery is happening at rather a sedate pace. This recession has cut quite deep and any wound this deep can not heal overnight.

The most alarming point for me was the large percentage, in fact the majority, of people that stated the situation had become even more severe; so perhaps we are not through the worst thus far.

I am by no means an expert in the field of the economy however I do have a number of business interests including ones where people are able to obtain cheap calls and also with a group of cost reduction specialists. My main expertise however is with helping people to overcome their stuttering speech impediments.

So when can we expect the recovery to really start in earnest? Well this answer is, of course, very difficult to answer and calling the bottom of the market can only ever be guess work. I will however give my opinion, for what it’s worth. I personally think that 2009 will continue to be a tough year, that in 2010 we will start to see that all important recovery and that in 2011 we will see some very strong growth.

The above opinion is given due to what we already know, if there is a lot more bad news out there of which we have not yet been told of then this opinion will no doubt have to be reviewed.

What To Do If You Want To Send a Fax Online

Posted By stevenlocke on November 19, 2009 @ 11:40 am

Although electronic mail seems to be popular, it continues to be necessary to send key files as well as endorsed papers by fax. Utilizing the fax machine isn’t the most convenient way to transmit facsimiles for people, nor is it cost effective to own a facsimile machine. However, ever since electronic fax service providers have hit the Internet, it’s now possible to transmit facsimiles via the Internet simply and easily.

Regardless if you need to faxing from computer as an electronic mail file, or transmit a more conventional file to a standard device, each option can be done with no hassle whatsoever.

Equally good can be the money you will save, which can be enormous, whether the savings will be made in reducing provider fees, or simply in limiting the quantity of paper and toner utilized. Additional savings would also be had on phone line bills, depending on the quantity of faxes sent.

So that Internet fax services get your online facsimile business, a lot of faxing from Internet providers offer extra benefits. Any of these bonuses can range from securely keeping your address book to saving all documents which you previously sent. The advantages are abundant.

There are so many other features available and can be customized to suit your very own individual needs. While many businesses offer these solutions, some service providers are better than others.

A more popular service shall have a decent package of benefits and prices. You will find that some of the sending faxes online service providers have more competitive rates (going as low as one cent per file sent), in addition to advanced faxing features.

Of the many options one has to decide on, one will see some top notch providers that are likely to stand out more. One of the benefits to look for is an outstanding support division that is accessible 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, guaranteeing all questions will be handled quickly.

Whether you discover yourself wanting just a private faxing service provider or you’re a small company proprietor that does a bunch of fax transmissions, you’ll find tons of service providers available for you to choose from. Shop around and see which service most suits your needs.
