Congratulations on your future bundle of joy. After the initial happiness about the new addition to the family, it is important to get down to business and review the items that your family will need over the first year. Lets take a look at some necessary baby gear that you will need to buy.

Crib and Bedding

Getting a crib for your child as well as the colorful and playful bedding that goes along with it is probably the most important furniture that you will need to add to your nursery. Whether it is a family heirloom or a new crib you will want to make sure that it is sturdy and can survive a few bumps and spills. Also, you want to make sure that the baby will not be able to easily climb or fall out of the crib as they get a little older and more mobile.

Baby bedding can be found in a multitude of colors and fanciful styles that will entertain any boy or girl. Just make sure that the material is soft and sturdy as it will have to survive many washing and all kinds of spills and you will want it to be just as soft for your baby after six months as it is when you first get it.

Diapers For Your Baby

Changing out the baby’s diapers is never fun, but you want to make sure that you are getting the highest quality diaper that you can afford. Cheap diapers can often leak, especially as your baby gets older and more mobile, so it is important to find a brand that allows for good movement while keeping everything contained.

Diaper disposal will be the next immediate step that will quickly become important. Look online for reviews of the different brands so that you can make sure that you are getting the best system at the best price. The disposal system will help you maintain a home environment that is odor free and healthy as well as carefully packaging away your dirty diapers so that they can be thrown out easily.

Baby Bottles

There has been much debate lately about whether plastic baby bottles or glass bottles are safest for your baby and this is a choice you will have to make yourself. Glass bottles require you to be a little bit more careful and cost more, but you will not have to concern yourself with any residue from plastic bottles leaking into the food.

Buying baby items can be overwhelming and there is always something new that is developed for children. These few items will give you a little insight into what you will need to purchase over the next few months as you plan for your baby.
