Telephones have not always been mainstream. It was all but fifty years ago that teenagers and children did not even use telephones, let alone have on in their bedroom or close at hand.

In the world today, telephones (more specifically cell phones) have become a part of everyday life. It is not uncommon for teenagers to have cell phones so that they can check email, text and chat with their friends. As a parent, you are protective over your children. If they recieve a call from a number you do not recognize, it pays to look into the matter.

Before you can do your research, you need to get the phone number that is calling your child. There are a couple of ways to do this. Of course, most cell phones have caller ID so you can get their phone and find the number that way, or if for some reason you do not have access to the phone, then you can get the numbers that have called your child from the phone company where you have service.

Once you have the ten digit phone number, you will need to find a good reverse telephone lookup service to locate who the number belongs to. There are many of these services available online, some you will need to pay for, some are free. They offer different levels of service, you will just need to do your homework. If you require detailed information you will need to pay for that level of service. The paid option will give you much more accurate information.

You can stop the predators from getting to your teenager or child by performing a reverse lookup. You should always be sure to keep good records in case you need the information later for law enforcement. It is important to stop these harrassers and predators before they get to your loved one. The first step is locating who is calling your child then doing something about it.
