Grade One Farewell

Posted By Juicy-Lie on October 6, 2008 @ 10:56 am

Since we were going to be moving to a new community, we wanted to put on a going away party for my son and the children in his class.  We thought that this would help him get past the old friends and make way for his new ones in the new town that we were moving to.

But, we just didn’t want it to be any kind of party, but instead thought that we would make it like a mini-graduation.  So, we purchased some custom aisle runners that had the names of his classmates on them so that he would have a souvenir of the big day.

The custom aisle runner was a big hit with the parents in attendance as they had never seen such an aisle runner before.  Though he is still adjusting to our new home, he has talked about the party everyday since we have arrived - to him, it was a great grade one farewell.

Quick and Easy Career Choice

One of my most wonderful (and sometimes annoying) habits is to make decisions quickly.  For the most part, this has not caused any problems, though there have been a number of occasions where this has cost me.

For example, I had always wanted to be a hairdresser.  Now, this might seem like a strange career choice, but after watching my own hairdresser work her magic, there was no question in my mind that hair school was in my future.

It wasn’t until I found out about the number of beauty schools in our area that I started to get excited - I was going to get to learn about something I loved at a beauty academy in our area.

It has only been a couple of years since I made that choice, and I have never looked back - I certainly love what I do.
